Quad/Graphics , a printer of magazines, catalogs and other commercial products, said it will close its Buffalo, New York book manufacturing plant and invest $15 million in Martinsburg, West Virginia plant as part of its restructuring program.

The Buffalo plant, employing around 400 people, will begin stepping down operations immediately, and production is expected to conclude in the fourth quarter of 2011. The plant specializes in making mass-market paperbacks.

The company said it will “proactively assist” impacted employees in finding new jobs, including those available at other Quad/Graphics locations.
