The prospect of lining up in a lane next to the best 400-meter able-bodied sprinters in the world, in his first major meet in America no less, has double-amputee runner Oscar Pistorius a little jittery.

Still, the upcoming race in New York might just provide the nudge he needs.

The 24-year-old South African known as “Blade Runner” finished in a personal-best time of 45.61 seconds during a 400-meter race last month, giving him the “B” qualifier for the world championships in Daegu, South Korea, later this summer.
