A black New York City Council member says an anti-abortion billboard unveiled to coincide with Black History Month is “highly offensive.”

The sign in Manhattan’s SoHo neighborhood reads: “The most dangerous place for an African-American is in the womb.”

The campaign is by “Life Always.” A board member, the Rev. Stephen Broden, who’s also black, likens abortion to “a genocidal plot.”

Brooklyn Councilwoman Letitia James, of the Working Families Party, calls the billboard’s timing “misguided.”
