A scam artist with 41 prior convictions was sentenced to prison on Thursday for swindling people by pretending they broke his eyeglasses and demanding they pay for the damages.

Naim Jabbar, 43, was arrested in July after bumping into a victim, blaming the person for breaking his glasses and intimidating the victim into giving him $100, according to the criminal complaint. A witness called police, the complaint said.
