Personal incomes of New Yorkers fell last year for the first time in 70 years, a new report from the state comptroller’s office revealed on Wednesday.

Personal incomes tumbled “almost twice” as much in New York as in the rest of the United States — a 3.1-percent drop in 2009 from 2008 totaling a staggering 908 billion U.S. dollars in lost income, according to New York State Comptroller Thomas DiNapoli.
