A new report found that two in every five children in New York City from kindergarten through eighth grade are either overweight or obese, according to The New York Times on Monday.
A whopping 22 percent have body mass indexes (BMI) high enough to be declared clinically obese, and another 18 percent are considered overweight. The study was based on the 2008-2009 data of 254,076 children gathered and analyzed by the City’s Departments of Education and Health.
