Florida child welfare officials have taken temporary custody of the 3-year-old Florida boy abandoned at St. Patrick’s Cathedral in New York last week.

The Florida Department of Children and Families reports that a New York City child protection team accompanied Nathaniel Fons to the Orlando International Airport, where they met Florida officials Thursday afternoon.
